Rocky Mountain Ham Radio Pledge Drive A Huge Success!

Rocky Mountain Ham Radio wants to thank the over forty contributors to our Repeater Update Fund Drive. We set out to allocate $8,000 to upgrade our Breckenridge, Mosquito (Leadville) and Vail repeater sites. The generosity of Rocky Mountain Ham Radio Members and the amateur radio community was overwhelming! We were hoping to raise $4,700 to be joined with the matching funds of $3,300 from Triple C Communications. We actually raised $7,819 for a total of $11,119!  Some donors also decided to sign up for the Rocky Mountain Ham Radio Monthly Pledge Program! We will be presenting proposals to our Board of Directors to put the additional funds to good use in a transparent manner. It is obvious that our goal was met and this fund raiser will allow us to propose building out additional repeaters in Grand Junction, Montrose and other locations.

As some of you may know, we recently found out that we are losing our 3GHz microwave frequencies due to an FCC reallocation to commercial interests. This means we will need to replace a couple of critical 3GHz paths before the end of the year, one of which is the link to Breckenridge.

Triple C Communications was pleased with the response to their matching funds pledge and will look forward to working with Rocky Mountain Ham Radio in the future.

Shortly, Rocky Mountain Ham Radio will debut a “Project Funding Page” on our website. This page will allow us to keep the amateur radio community informed of our expansion, upgrades and ongoing maintenance endeavors and the funding that may be required to bring all the projects to fruition.  Again, thanks to all for your generosity and support of Rocky Mountain Ham Radio!
