RMHAM installation efforts at Pinon

After cancelling the previous weekend’s (08/10/2024) installation effort at the Pinon site due to the large amount of rainfall received at the site, RMHAM made significant progress this past weekend. Club members arrived at the site with the task of installing four microwave dishes, stringing ethernet cable to the dishes, clearing and cleaning a rack for new equipment. Tony KF0RPC, Randy (no call sign), Tristan (NM0TH) and Mike (K7AIH) climbed the tower to install mounts and the dishes on the tower, They were supported from the ground by John (W0VG), Paul (K0WSU), Mark (N0OHJ), Doug (K2AD), Dave (WA1JHK), Mark (N7CTM), Chris (K0SWE), and Glenn (KE0UWC) who prepared the dishes on the ground, getting them ready for installation and transported up the tower. When not transporting equipment up the tower, work was accomplished installing the equipment in the rack, cleaning the area, setting up equipment, and checking connectivity. It was 102 degrees which required lots of re-hydration and some breaks to get out of the heat. As the sun set, a caravan of vehicles headed away from the site after a long day of work.
Another site which RMHAM has an upcoming installation effort this summer is Cedarwood and then Manzanola. Keep an eye out for messages and future updates.
