RMHAM Honors CCSD

Rocky Mountain Radio took the opportunity on November 11th to recognize our partner, the Cherry Creek School District, in bringing Rocky Mountain Ham Radio University to the amateur radio community.
Pictured is RMHAM’s CEO and Chairman of the Board John Maxwell, presenting a plaque to the Board of Education of the Cherry Creek School District thanking them for their support over the last Ten Years.
Over ten years ago, RMHAM began its efforts to bring organized presentations of our microwave technology to our membership and the general public. We held a few sessions on Internet Protocol (IP), that is the foundation of RMHAM’s microwave backbone, at members’ residences. As the word of these learning experiences spread, RMHAM was approached about expanding the sessions into organized classes.
Randy Councell N0OEM and Bob Sterner KB0BS, both active members of RMHAM “just happened” to be employed at the Cherry Creek School District. They were instrumental in suggesting and acquiring access to the district’s facilities to house RMHAM’s educational activities. Over the years, RMHAM has held VE exam sessions and currently we hold Rocky Mountain Ham Radio University monthly during the school year.
